POWDER COATING…A PROCESS THAT PRODUCES QUALITY

Powder coating is a painting process in which plastic resin, in the form of powder is sprayed and heated onto a variety of materials and products.

The process begins by cleansing the product and coating it with iron phosphate.  It is then simultaneously charged electrically and sprayed with the powder in the color of choice.  This enables the paint to stick to the product providing a consistency of thickness ensuring a high quality finish.  It is then baked in an oven, in which the amount of time depends upon the type of powder and product.  Once the oven process ends, the product will be allowed to cool.

The most attractive quality of powder coating is the durability of the end product with its evenly coated paint job.  It is virtually chip, scratch, and chemical resistant.  As opposed to solvent-based painting, powder coating is environmentally safe, and the waste can be salvaged and reused.  Also, there are endless choices of colors and a wide variety of finishes.

Any metal product with the ability to withstand high temperature and electrical charges can be powder coated.  It will sustain an even finish over the entire surface of the most complex pieces.
